How to Use

Dosage

One drop into the affected eye(s), preferably in the morning.

Method

Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and gently squeeze one drop into your eye. Close your eye and press the inner corner near your nose for two minutes.

Important

Do not use more than one drop per day in each affected eye.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reactions such as swelling of the face or limbs, breathing or swallowing difficulties, hives, itchy rash, or severe sudden allergic reaction.
  • Skin issues like lupus (swelling/redness, fever), hair loss, psoriasis-like rash, or worsening psoriasis.
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia), feeling down (depression), nightmares, memory loss, seeing or hearing things that aren't there (hallucinations), fainting, stroke, dizziness, tingling or numbness, headache.
  • Eye irritation (burning, stinging, itching, tearing, redness), eyelid or corneal inflammation, blurry vision, dry eyes, double vision, or conjunctivitis (pink eye).
  • Slow heart rate, chest pain, fast heartbeat, swelling (fluid retention), changes in heart rhythm, heart failure, or heart attack. Also low blood pressure, cold hands and feet (Raynaud's phenomenon).
  • Narrowing of airways, shortness of breath, or cough.
  • Taste disturbances, nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, dry mouth, stomach pain, or vomiting.
  • Muscle pain not caused by exercise, muscle weakness or fatigue, or joint disease.
  • Sexual problems, decreased sex drive, or penile curvature (Peyronie's disease).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to timolol, other beta-blockers, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have severe heart problems (like heart failure or irregular/slow heartbeat) or severe breathing problems (like asthma or severe COPD).
  • Do not use if you have untreated pheochromocytoma (a tumor near the kidneys causing high blood pressure).
  • Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor says it's essential.
  • This medicine may cause blurry vision, double vision, drooping eyelids, dizziness, or fatigue. If you experience these effects, do not drive or use machines.

  • If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride which can irritate eyes.
  • If you use other eye medicines, wait at least 5 minutes between applications and apply Timosan eye gel last.
  • Timosan eye gel is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
  • Tell your doctor if you are using Timosan eye gel before any surgery or anesthesia.

Category C
