How to Use

Dosage

A small amount, about 1 cm of ointment.

Method

Apply to the lower eyelid pocket.

Important

1-3 times a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary stinging upon application.
  • Temporary blurred vision upon application.
RARE
  • Increased eye pressure with long-term use.
  • Corneal ulcers or clouding if used continuously for several months.
  • Bone marrow failure (very rare cases, especially with long-term use of chloramphenicol).
  • Hormonal problems like body/face swelling, weight gain, muscle weakness, or irregular periods (signs of Cushing's syndrome).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to dexamethasone, chloramphenicol, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have eye tuberculosis.
  • Do not use if you have a viral or fungal eye infection.
  • Do not use if you have ulcers in your eyes.
  • Do not wear contact lenses while using this ointment.

  • Contact your doctor if you experience blurred vision or other vision problems.
  • Long-term use (over two weeks) can increase eye pressure.
  • Healing of corneal injuries may be slowed down.
  • Talk to your doctor if you experience body and face swelling and rounding, which could be signs of Cushing's syndrome.
  • The eye ointment may temporarily blur your vision. Avoid driving or operating machines until your vision is clear again.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. For temporary use. Start and continue therapy under supervision by an ophthalmologist. Do not use if fungal or viral infection is suspected. (updated 4.12.2023)
