How to Use

Dosage

Take one Logimax or Logimax forte prolonged-release tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with at least half a glass of liquid (not grapefruit juice), preferably in the morning at the same time each day; do not split, crush, or chew it.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Tiredness
  • Swelling in arms/legs (fluid retention)
  • Skin redness
  • Dizziness, headache
  • Slow heart rate, palpitations
  • Dizziness when standing up (due to low blood pressure, rarely fainting)
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation
  • Shortness of breath during exertion
RARE
  • Tingling/numbness
  • Muscle cramps
  • Heart disease symptoms like shallow breathing, temporary worsening of ankle swelling, minor EKG changes (not affecting heart function), swelling, chest pain
  • Depression, difficulty concentrating, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, nightmares
  • Rash or itching
  • Shortness of breath
  • Increased sweating
  • Weight gain
  • Very low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Fainting
  • Heart conduction disorders visible on EKG, irregular heartbeat
  • Nervousness, anxiety
  • Abnormal liver values
  • Hair loss, hives
  • Runny nose or watery/red eyes due to allergic reaction
  • Vision problems, dry and/or irritated eyes
  • Dry mouth
  • Impotence/sexual dysfunction
  • Muscle pain, joint pain
  • Worsening of poor circulation in limbs for patients with severe circulation disorders
  • Memory loss/impairment, confusion, hallucinations
  • Hypersensitivity reactions such as fever and swelling
  • Skin reaction due to sensitivity to sunlight, worsening of psoriasis symptoms
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Taste disorders
  • Frequent urination
  • Blood disorder (low platelet count)
  • Liver inflammation

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to felodipine, metoprolol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant.
  • Do not use this medicine if you recently had a heart attack.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have chest pain at rest or with little effort (unstable angina).
  • Do not use this medicine if you have a severe heart block (II or III degree AV block).

  • Do not use this medicine if you have untreated or symptomatic heart failure.
  • Do not use this medicine if your heart rate is slow and causes symptoms.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have sick sinus syndrome, which causes irregular heart rhythms.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have cardiogenic shock (very low blood pressure and slow pulse).
  • Do not use this medicine if you have severe blood circulation problems in your limbs, causing coldness or pain in your hands and feet.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have a significant narrowing of a heart valve or the heart's outflow tract (obstructive cardiomyopathy).
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have asthma or another lung disease that narrows your airways.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have diabetes.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have heart failure.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have low blood pressure.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have heart rhythm disorders.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have an overactive thyroid gland.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you are prone to severe allergic reactions.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have severe liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you are prone to very low blood sugar or use insulin.
  • Tell your doctor if your heart rate continues to slow down during Logimax treatment.
  • Tell your doctor or dentist if you are having general anesthesia for dental work or surgery.
  • Do not take this medicine with grapefruit juice.
  • If you have an intolerance to some sugars (e.g., lactose), discuss with your doctor before taking this medicine.
  • This medicine contains polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil, which may cause stomach upset and diarrhea.
  • Find out how this medicine affects you before driving or operating machinery, as it may cause dizziness or other side effects that impair your ability.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A
