How to Use

Dosage

Apply one Estalis patch to your skin, changing it twice a week.

Method

Apply the patch to your lower stomach, below the waist. Do not apply it to your breasts or waistline. Press it firmly with your palm for at least 10 seconds, especially around the edges.

Important

Only wear one patch at a time. Do not apply a second patch if you forget to change one.

  • Gallbladder disease
  • Various skin conditions (e.g., discolored skin patches, especially on face and neck ("pregnancy spots"), painful red lumps on skin, ring-shaped red or sore rashes)
  • Impaired memory and thinking (possible dementia)
  • Dry eyes
  • Difficulty with contact lenses

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer, or if breast cancer is suspected.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected of having an estrogen-dependent cancer, such as uterine cancer.
  • Do not use if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have a significantly thickened uterine lining that has not been treated.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a blood clot in a vein (e.g., in your leg or lungs).

  • Do not use if you have a blood clotting disorder.
  • Do not use if you have or have recently had a disease caused by arterial blood clots, such as a heart attack, stroke, or angina (chest pain).
  • Do not use if you have liver disease and your liver function tests are not yet normal.
  • Do not use if you have a rare inherited blood disorder called porphyria.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to estradiol, norethisterone, or any other ingredients in Estalis.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if any of the above conditions appear for the first time or get worse.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow (jaundice), as this may indicate liver problems.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if you experience swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, or hives with breathing difficulties, as these may be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if your blood pressure increases significantly (symptoms may include headache, tiredness, dizziness).
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if you get migraine-like headaches for the first time.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if you become pregnant.
  • Stop using Estalis and contact your doctor immediately if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as painful swelling and redness in a leg, sudden chest pain, or difficulty breathing.
  • Check your breasts regularly. See a doctor if you notice any changes, such as dimpling of the skin, changes to your nipple, or any lumps you can see or feel.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D
