Cosopt is an eye drop used to lower high eye pressure in glaucoma, when other eye drops alone are not enough.

How to Use

Dosage

One drop in the affected eye twice a day, in the morning and evening.

Method

Wash your hands and place one drop between your lower eyelid and eye. Close your eye and press the inner corner with your finger for about two minutes. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper tip.

Important

Maximum of two drops per treated eye per day.

  • Burning and stinging in the eyes

  • Redness in or around the eye
  • Itching or watery eyes
  • Scratch on the eye's surface (cornea)
  • Swelling or irritation in or around the eye
  • Feeling like something is in the eye
  • Less feeling in the eye's surface

  • Dry eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Headache
  • Sinus infection (feeling pressure in nose)
  • Nausea (feeling sick to stomach)
  • Weakness, tiredness
RARE
  • Dizziness
  • Depression
  • Inflammation of the colored part of the eye (iris)
  • Vision problems (including changes in vision)
  • Slow heartbeat
  • Fainting
  • Shortness of breath
  • Indigestion
  • Kidney stones
  • Autoimmune disease (like lupus)
  • Tingling or numbness in hands or feet
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Nightmares
  • Memory loss
  • Worsening of muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis)
  • Decreased sexual desire
  • Stroke
  • Temporary blurry near vision
  • Eye lining coming off after surgery
  • Drooping eyelid
  • Double vision
  • Crusting around eyelids

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have severe breathing problems, like asthma.
  • Do not use if you have a slow heartbeat or heart failure.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney disease.
  • If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
