How to Use

Dosage

Adults and teenagers over 14 years usually take 1 tablet (8 mg) three times a day. If needed at the start of treatment, this can be increased to 2 tablets (16 mg) three times a day.

Method

Dissolve the tablet in a glass of cold or hot water and drink it immediately. You can take this medicine with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than 2 tablets (16 mg) per dose, three times a day, which is a total of 6 tablets (48 mg) daily.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Feeling sick to your stomach (nausea)
  • Stomach pain (upper abdomen)
  • Allergic reactions
  • Skin rash
  • Itchy skin (hives)
  • Very severe allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylactic shock, sudden swelling of the skin or mucous membranes)
  • More serious skin problems (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Narrowing of the airways (bronchospasm)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to bromhexine or any other ingredient in Bisolvon.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had stomach or gut ulcers.
  • If you get a severe skin rash (including sores in your mouth, throat, nose, eyes, or genitals), stop taking Bisolvon and contact a doctor right away.
  • Do not use for more than one week without a doctor's advice, as long-term use can cause too much mucus.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • This medicine contains sugar (sucrose). If your doctor has told you that you cannot tolerate some sugars, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
