How to Use

Dosage

Start with the 0.025% cream; if your skin tolerates it well and more effect is needed, you may switch to the 0.05% cream.

Method

Apply a thin layer of cream to clean, dry skin, usually in the evening. Avoid the eyes, mouth area, and mucous membranes.

Important

No more than once daily.

  • Temporary skin color changes (increased or decreased pigmentation)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Avitcid cream if you are allergic to tretinoin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use Avitcid cream if you have a sudden skin rash (acute eczema) on the treated skin area.
  • Do not use Avitcid cream if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • Your skin will burn more easily in the sun and during light therapy while using this medicine. Protect your skin from the sun and avoid solariums. Do not apply the cream to sunburned skin.
  • Avoid applying the cream to broken or irritated skin (e.g., after hair removal).

  • Be careful to avoid getting the cream in your eyes, mouth, nostrils, or other mucous membranes. If it gets into these areas, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after each application.
  • You must use effective contraception during treatment.
  • If you are breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
  • Avoid using this cream at the same time as topical benzoyl peroxide or oral isotretinoin. Avoid strong drying or exfoliating cosmetic products and chemical hair removal products on the treated skin area.
  • This medicine contains cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol, methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which can cause local skin reactions, irritation, and allergic reactions (such as contact dermatitis, stinging, or burning).
