How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one drop in the eye 3-5 times a day or more often if needed.

Method

Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and put one drop into the eye. Blink a few times to spread the drop. Close the bottle tightly. For single-dose pipettes, follow instructions on the package; one pipette is enough for both eyes.

Important

No specific maximum daily dose is stated, but it can be used more often than 3-5 times a day if needed. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if unsure.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary blurred vision
  • Mild stinging
RARE
  • Allergic reaction (e.g., severe itching, redness, or swollen eyelids)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Artelac eye drops if you are allergic to hypromellose or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you use other eye preparations, wait at least 5 minutes between applications and use Artelac last.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • If the drops cause temporary blurred vision, wait until your vision returns to normal before driving or using machines.
  • If you wear contact lenses (for Artelac in a bottle), remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
Show 2 more warnings
  • Artelac single-dose eye drops do not contain preservatives and are suitable for contact lens users; you do not need to remove lenses when applying.
  • If you have severe damage to the transparent layer at the front of the eye (cornea), phosphates can, in very rare cases, cause cloudy spots on the cornea due to calcium build-up during treatment.
