How to Use

Dosage

Typically 1-2 inhalations as needed for symptoms or before exercise.

Method

Inhale slowly and deeply through the mouthpiece. The device will automatically release the dose when you breathe in. Hold your breath for 10 seconds after inhaling.

Important

Adults: Do not exceed 8 inhalations per day. Children: Do not exceed 4 inhalations per day. Contact your doctor if you need more.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nervousness (at the start of treatment)
  • Muscle tremors
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
RARE
  • Low potassium in blood
  • Increased lactic acid in blood
  • Palpitations, fast heart rate, widened blood vessels
  • Irritation of throat and mouth
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Dry mouth, sore mouth
  • Muscle cramps
  • Hyperactivity in children
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., swelling, hives, narrowed airways, low blood pressure, fainting)
  • Insomnia
  • Heart rhythm disorders (e.g., atrial fibrillation, fast heart rate, extra heartbeats)
  • Narrowing of airways (with increased wheezing immediately after taking the medicine)
  • Lack of oxygen in heart muscle

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to salbutamol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor before using if you have thyroid disease, low potassium, diabetes, heart or blood vessel disease, chest pain, or a tumor in the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma).
  • Always tell other doctors or dentists that you are using Airomir Autohaler.
  • If your asthma symptoms worsen (e.g., more breathlessness, wheezing, chest tightness) or if the medicine doesn't work as well, contact your doctor immediately. This could mean your asthma is getting worse.
  • Rarely, some people may feel chest pain (angina). If this happens, talk to your doctor but do not stop using the medicine on your own.

Category A
